Your payslips are in the employee portal once your employer approves the payroll. This guide shows how to read a payslip, open its PDF, keep it on your phone and ask payroll a question about it.
Before you start
- A payslip appears only after the payroll is approved, and only if your company lets employees see their payslips in the portal.
- You may also get an email when a payslip is ready. The email has a link to the portal; it never contains the PDF or any amount.
Find your payslips
- Open Payslips. Your approved payslips are listed newest first, with the Pay date, the Period, Gross and Net pay.
- Tap the pay date to open a payslip.
A correction paid after a payroll was approved shows as its own payslip, marked Adjustment.
Read your payslip
The payslip page shows:
- Net pay: what you receive.
- Earnings: your basic pay, overtime, holiday pay, allowances and other pay, then Gross pay.
- Deductions: your SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG shares, withholding tax, loans and other deductions, then Total deductions.
- Paid by your employer (not deducted): your employer's own contributions. They are not taken from your pay.
- Year to date, including previous employers: your taxable compensation and the tax withheld so far this year.
Tap the (?) beside a line to see what it means and where the rule comes from.
Open the PDF
- Tap Open PDF on the payslip page, or PDF on the list.
- The PDF is protected by a password. The page tells you which one, for example Your birth date as MMDDYYYY (e.g. 05141990) or Your employee number. Some companies use no password.
- Type the password and tap Open.
To print or save a copy, tap Open the file itself. Tap Back to return to your payslip.
Keep it on your phone
Tap Keep on this phone on a payslip page. Sahora saves the figures (not the PDF) on your phone, so you can read them without signal from the offline page. Tap Remove to take it off. This button is in English.
Ask a question about a payslip
- On the payslip page, go to Questions about this payslip.
- In About, choose The whole payslip or the line you are asking about.
- Type Your question and tap Send question. You see "Sent. Payroll is notified."
Payroll answers on the same page and you get a notification. The question shows Waiting for payroll, Answered or Closed. To reply, type in the box and tap Reply. When your question is settled, tick Close the question (resolved) before replying.
What can go wrong
- "No approved payslips yet.": the payroll is not approved yet, or your company doesn't show payslips in the portal. Ask HR.
- "That password did not open the file. Try again.": check the password hint. A birth date is month, day and year with no spaces or dashes.
- "The file could not be loaded. Go back and try again.": check your signal and open it again.
Good to know
- An approved payslip doesn't change. If something is wrong, payroll corrects it in a later payroll, which may appear as an Adjustment payslip.
- Each time a payslip is opened or downloaded, Sahora records it to keep pay records private.
- Your BIR Form 2316 is built from your approved payslips. See Your BIR Form 2316.
