Clocking in and out

Clock in with your phone, take a selfie if asked, and what to do without signal.

If your company records time on Sahora, you clock in and out from your phone in the employee portal. This guide shows how, what the selfie and location are for, and what happens when you have no signal.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the portal first (see Signing in to the portal).
  • Use your phone's browser: Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone. Many companies accept clock-ins from a phone only, not from a computer.
  • Add Sahora to your home screen so it opens like an app (see Installing Sahora on your phone).

If the page says "Your company records time with its own devices (biometrics)." or "Your company records time from its timesheets or biometric devices.", you don't clock in on Sahora. Use your company's time clock, and ask for a correction here if a time is wrong.

Clock in

  1. Open the portal and tap Clock in / out.
  2. Tap Clock in.
  3. If your phone asks, allow the camera and your location.
  4. If your company asks for a photo, the camera opens with "Look at the camera". Tap Take photo and clock before the time runs out.
  5. You see "Clocked in." and the time appears under Today.

The time recorded is Sahora's, not your phone's. Your location is taken only when you tap a button, never in between.

Breaks and clocking out

  • If your company tracks breaks, you also see Start break and End break. Tap them when your break starts and ends.
  • At the end of your shift, tap Clock out.

The first time you clock in with a selfie

Before your first selfie clock-in, Sahora shows a notice explaining why the photo is taken, how long it is kept and who sees it. Read it and tap I understand and agree to continue.

If you have no signal

  • If your company allows it, the punch is kept on your phone with its time and sent when you are back online. Keep the page open, or open it again once you have signal. Your supervisor will see that it was sent later.
  • If your company doesn't allow it, Sahora tells you so. Clock in when you are back online.

When a punch is marked for checking

Some punches are recorded but marked for your supervisor or HR to check, for example when your location is missing, you are away from your work site, or you used a new phone. The message tells you why.

  • New phone: your company accepts clock-ins from one phone at a time. A punch from a new phone waits until HR approves the phone.
  • Asked to explain: if a reviewer asks you to explain a punch, type your explanation on the Clock in / out page and tap Send explanation.

Days to check

The Days to check (last 30 days) list shows days with a missing clock-in or clock-out, a missed break punch, or no punches on a workday. Tap Ask for a correction beside a day to fix it. See Fixing a missed or wrong punch.

Where this guide gives a rate, limit or number of days set by law, it is the one in force today, 24 October 2026, from the official tables Sahora uses for payroll.
