BIR details and your work place

Your TIN, RDO, filing channel and the place that decides your minimum wage and holidays.

For:Owner / Management

Sahora prints your BIR registration details on the forms it prepares, such as the 1601-C, BIR Form 2316 and the alphalist. It also uses the place where your company works to choose the minimum wage and the holidays that apply. This guide shows where to enter both.

Before you start

  • Only an Owner / Management user (or your accounting firm) can change these details. Other users see them but can't save.
  • You can enter the same details in the guided setup, in the steps BIR registration details and Work place and minimum wage region (see The guided setup).

Enter your BIR details

  1. Open Company setup and choose Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll to the BIR registration part of the card and fill in the fields below.
  3. Click Save payroll settings. In the guided setup, the button is Save BIR details.
FieldWhat to enter
Business registration and Registration numberSEC, DTI or CDA, and the number it gave you
Employer TINThe 9-digit TIN, typed twice. The dashes are added for you.
Registered nameAs registered with the BIR. Leave blank to use the company name.
Registered address and ZIP codeAs registered with the BIR
RDO codeYour RDO's 3-digit code. It is also used on an employee's 2316 when the employee has no RDO code.
Authorized signatory and Signatory's positionThe person who signs the 2316 for the employer
Contact number and Email addressPrinted on the Pag-IBIG remittance form and the 1601-C

The second TIN box doesn't accept pasting: type the number again. Once a TIN is on file, the boxes start empty. Leave them blank to keep the TIN on file, or type a new one twice to replace it.

Choose your filing channel

  1. In Payroll settings, find BIR 1601-C filing channel.
  2. Choose eBIRForms / manual or eFPS.
  3. If you file through eFPS, choose your eFPS group (Group A to E), as shown on your eFPS enrollment.
  4. Click Save payroll settings.

Sahora uses the channel and group to set the 1601-C due dates in your filing calendar. Due dates that fall on a weekend or holiday move to the next working day.

The boxes PhilHealth due day, Pag-IBIG due day and BIR 1601-C due day can stay blank: Sahora then uses the usual due dates, and the hint under each box explains how they are set. Fill one in only if your due day is different. See The filing calendar.

Set your work place

  1. In Payroll settings, find the part that starts "Where the company works".
  2. Choose the Region.
  3. If the region's wage order has areas, choose the Minimum wage area. Otherwise it shows Whole region.
  4. Choose the Type of employer: Non-agriculture, Agriculture, Small retail or service establishment or Other small establishment (e.g. manufacturing).
  5. Choose the Province (local holidays) and the City or municipality (local holidays).
  6. Click Save payroll settings (or Save work place in the guided setup).

The region, area and type of employer choose the minimum wage Sahora checks pay against and uses to tell who is a minimum wage earner. The region, province and city or municipality choose the regional and local holidays.

What can go wrong

  • "Employer TIN: the two entries don't match. Type the number again in both boxes." Type the TIN again in both boxes.
  • "Employer TIN: 9 digits (e.g. 123-456-789)." Enter only the 9-digit TIN, without a branch code.
  • "RDO code: 3 digits (e.g. 044)." or "ZIP code: 4 digits." Check the number.
  • "Choose the eFPS group (A to E)." You chose eFPS: pick your group.
  • "Choose the province." or "Choose the city or municipality." Pick both, so the local holidays are right.
  • "Only the company owner (or JTL) can change payroll settings." Ask your Owner / Management user to make the change.

Good to know

  • Minimum wages come from the wage orders in Sahora's tables. Changes are listed on Statutory updates.
  • Sahora prepares the BIR forms. You still file and pay them with the BIR.

Where this guide gives a rate, limit or number of days set by law, it is the one in force today, 24 October 2026, from the official tables Sahora uses for payroll.
