Sahora has a Free Plan for small teams and paid plans that include every feature. This guide explains what the Free Plan leaves out, how the paid plans are counted and how to move from one plan to another. Prices, employee limits and the trial length are on Pricing.
What every plan includes
The things the law asks of you are on every plan, Free included: payroll computations, payslips in the employee portal, 13th month pay, final pay, year-end tax, the SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG reports, the BIR forms, the full export of your data and two-step verification.
What the Free Plan leaves out
The Free Plan holds back some features and counts some things. On the current price list, for example:
- payslip emails to employees (on Free, employees open their payslips in the portal);
- phone clock-in with selfie and location (on Free, bring in attendance from your biometric device's file or the Sahora template);
- company loans and cash advances with e-signed authorization (SSS and Pag-IBIG loans work on Free);
- QuickBooks Online and Xero journal files (the payroll journal entry itself is on Free);
- AutoPilot, SSS and PhilHealth statement checking, some reports such as payroll comparisons and the year ledger, API keys and webhooks, and importing your own Excel layouts (the Sahora templates work on Free);
- a limit on pay groups, branches and users. Users are owners, payroll officers, HR admins, payroll approvers and Finance. Employees and supervisors using the portal don't count.
Free payslips also carry the line "Powered by Sahora". The full list is in Free and paid plans compared on Pricing; the upgrade notes link to it with Compare Free and paid plans.
When you reach something the Free Plan leaves out, Sahora shows a short note saying what Free does and what a paid plan adds, with the ways to upgrade.
How the paid plans are counted
- Each registered business is billed separately.
- An employee counts for a month when they received at least one finalized pay from your company that month. A month with only final pay or only 13th month pay for that person doesn't count.
- Plus is a fixed monthly fee for a small team. A month with more employees than Plus covers is billed on the next plan.
- The other paid plans charge per employee, with a minimum for each plan.
See Billing statements and paying.
Move from Free to Plus
- Open Billing.
- On Upgrade to Plus, click Subscribe to Plus.
- Read the confirmation and click Yes, subscribe to Plus.
Every feature turns on at once, and Plus is billed from that month. Then choose monthly or annual billing (see Monthly or annual billing, and cancelling).
Try the paid plans first
- Open Billing, or click the trial button on any upgrade note.
- Click the button to start the free trial.
Every feature is on during the trial, except payslip emails, which start once you subscribe. Choose a billing cycle on Billing before the trial ends. If you don't, the workspace becomes read-only until you do.
Other users see the same upgrade notes, with a line saying the company owner can subscribe or start the trial. Ask your owner.
Good to know
- One Free Plan per owner. If an owner's second company is also on Free, it is billed on Plus, with Plus's features.
- Inactive Free companies. A Free company with no payroll for a long time is archived. Your records are kept, and the owner can click Reactivate on the notice.
- If billing is overdue, new payroll runs are paused, and later the workspace becomes read-only. See Billing statements and paying.
- Sahora Managed is a separate paid service where our payroll team prepares your payroll. Ask for it on Billing with Ask about Sahora Managed.
